Challenge
The Service Provider wizard on the Tenant Veeam Server fails with errors.
Two examples:
Certificate validation failed. Unable to connect to the service provider.
Certificate validation failed. Authentication failed because the remote party has closed the transport stream.
Solution
1. Ensure TCP/UDP port 6180 is allowed outbound from the tenant environment (for stateful firewalls only). If the firewall is stateless, a static rule will need added for the return traffic.
For Veeam Cloud Connect to work correctly, outbound connectivity on TCP Port 6180 should be allowed from the server/s with Veeam Backup & Replication or the Veeam Agent
2. In Veeam VBR, select on the Tab (on the top left side of the Home Button), then
select Help and finally click on the About button.
*Some newer certificate formats are only supported in 9.5 update 2 or later, for example, Microsoft Software Key Storage Provider. Tenant must upgrade to Veeam Backup and Replication v9.5
